Ardi PEX is a cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) product manufactured according to ASTM F-876/F-877/CTS-OD SDR9 and EN ISO 15875 standards. Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing provides excellent chemical and corrosion resistance, making it ideally suited for harsh water conditions or aggressive installation environment.

PEX Tubing is also used to distribute heat via water in Radiant Heat and Hydronic Heating Systems. Most radiant heat systems require PEX Tubing with an oxygen barrier. Ardi PEX Tubing has an oxygen barrier which is ideal for radiant heat systems and PEX-al-PEX tubing that has an aluminum layer which acts as an oxygen barrier.

Ardi PEX Pipe

Ardi PEX pipe is produced with crosslinked polyethylene. Crosslinking is obtained through a chemical process that increases the bonds between macromolecules to form a more complex structure than the normal polyethylene. Due to the crosslinking, the polyethylene's performance is greatly enhanced still maintaining the excellent properties of thermoplastics.

Ardi 5-layer PEX Pipe

Ardi 5-layer PEX pipe is made up of five layers: crosslinked polyethylene, adhesive, oxygen barrier, adhesive, crosslinked polyethylene. The layers of adhesive bind the two layers of crosslinked polyethylene to the central barrier layer by a thermal reaction. The barrier layer is right in the center, this preventing the pipe from being damaged by scratch and from reducing its performance due to the moisture.
PEX inner layer:
Cross linked polyethylene with all mechanical, electrical, chemical and thermal properties.

Adhensive layers:
Having the following purposes:
- to perfectly bond the EVON polymer and PEX.
- to absorb eventual shifting movements between EVOH polymer and PEX, likely to occur in opposite directions.
- to give 5-layer PEX the advantages of single component pipe.
EVON oxygen barrier layer:
Acts as Oxygen Diffusion Barrier.
PEX outer layer:
To protect EVON layer against outer environmental influences an is resistant to construction material, acids coming from the soil, mechanical aggressions, atmospherical influences like bab and cold weather, handling conditions on site, etc...

Ardi Corrugated Pipes

Ardi PEX pipe running through walls or ceilings should be protected with corrugated pipe. In addition, it is advisable to protect the pipes after assembly against damages caused by other work being done on the site. The corrugated pipe in red or blue is made of polyethylene and is separately available.
